报告内容简介:In the presentation, the dynamic measurement of the compressive strength of brittle materials (concrete, rock, ceramics etc) based on split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) system will be discussed. The structural effects, which cause fault interpretation of the SHPB measurement, will be analysed in details. Correction procedures are proposed to obtain valid SHPB data.

报告人简介Prof. Li is a Professor at Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, The University of Manchester, UK. He received BSc and MSc in Mechanics from Peking University, Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Liverpool, and higher doctorate degree (DEng) from University of Liverpool. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Beijing Institute of Technology. As the leader of the Impact & Explosion Research Group, Dr Li's expertise is in penetration mechanics, mechanics of cellular solids, dynamic behaviour of engineering materials at high strain-rates and structural response to impact, blast and shock loads. Dr Li is a charted engineer and a Fellow of Institute of Mechanical Engineers. He is the Associate Editor of International Journal of Impact Engineering, and serves the editorial boards of several other journals including Journal of Defence Technology, International Journal of Protective Structures, Journal of Explosion & Shock Waves.
