报告内容简介:

Modern machines and structures are composed of various types of materials to satisfy the design requirements. In order to ensure the safety and reliability, it is important to understand the interface strength of the multi-material structures. Multilayer structures composed of thin polymer films are also widely used. In this presentation, various approaches of interfacial mechanics are briefly reviewed and several testing methods developed for electrical-package and adhesive films are presented including adhesion test, peering test, probe tack test and Nano-indentation test. Some experimental results obtained by our group are presented. Fatigue strength test of steel and aluminum alloy joint is also introduced.

报告人简介:

Dr. Kikuo Kishimoto is currently a Professor Emeritus of Tokyo Insutitute of Technolgy and a fellow of National Institute for Education Policy Research. He received his B.S. degree in 1975, M.S. degree in 1977, and Doctor of Engineering degree in 1982 from Tokyo Institute of Technology. He worked as a Research Associate (April 1977 - December 1988), Associate Professor (January 1989 - August 1995) and Professor (September 1995 - March 2018) at Tokyo Institute of Technology. He served as Vice President for education, Dean of School of Engineering as well as Environment and Society, Tokyo Institute of Technology.  He was appointed as Honorary Chair Professor of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology on March 2018. He has published over 350 journal papers in the areas of applied mechanics, fracture mechanics, reliability of microelectronic devices, and others. He has also published authoritative and widely used reference books in these fields. In 1980 and 2000, he was awarded the JSME Medal for Best Paper for his contributions to dynamic fracture mechanics and interfacial mechanics, respectively. He also received various awards such as the Best Paper Award from Japan Society of Corrosion Engineering in 1993, Society of Materials Science Award for Academic Contribution in 2006 and JSME Materials and Mechanics Division Accomplishment Medal in 2016. He is a fellow of Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, a fellow of Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan and a fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He is a member of Science Council of Japan and serving as a chairman of mechanical engineering committee (2011-2014). He has served and chaired on various scientific and technological committees promoting research and education. He also served and a vice president of Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (JABEE, 2013-2016) and the 94th President of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (2016-2017).
