报告名称:Building toward the digital twin for smart logistics operation

报告简介:

In this talk, we will introduce some new initiatives in Singapore in transformingthe industry into the next generation industry, in particular in the logisticsand maritime sectors. We will also present some of our latest work indeveloping a simulation optimization framework for digital twin for varioussystems, such as warehouse system and port system. This framework O2DES has thecapability in incorporating optimization in the simulation, and optimizing thesystem parameters based on simulation output.

报告名称:Extensions to theairline fleet assignment problem

报告简介:

In this talk, we will introduce two extensions to the traditionalairline fleet assignment problem (FAP). In the first extension, we consider thecrew resource availability and balance in FAP. In the second extension, wemodel the demand-price relationship use a piece-wise linear function. We adopt the traditional time-space network model to handle these extensions. Severaldecomposition algorithms are proposed to solve these models efficiently. Ourcomputational results show that the proposed solution methods can be used formid and large scale airline companies.

报告名称:AGV Routing andControl for Transshipment Container Terminal

报告简介:

In this presentation, we develop a framework for routing and controlling the Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs). Asthe AGV routing and control are done in real time, the framework requires thesolutions to be generated very fast. To address this computational challenge, the solution framework consists of two stages. The first stage determines therough routes of the AGVs. The second stage determine the detail routings andschedules of the AGVs. As solving the detail routings and schedules requirehigh computing resource, we decompose the port layout into submodules whereeach of them can be solved almost independently. The output of the first stage(rough routes) becomes an input to the second stage which solve the detailroutes and schedules for real time control. Whenever an AGV completes a task, the first stage will be called to revise the rough routes of the AGVs which includes the new task which is assigned to the AGV that has completed the previous task. The new rough routes will become input for second stage to solvethe detail routes and schedules. We show this framework is promising and isable to generate the detail routes and schedules very fast.

报告名称:A LEGO basedhardware-in-the-loop container terminal simulator

报告简介:Containerterminals are getting bigger and busier. Managing their operations becomes achallenge. Software simulators are widely used but they bear difficulties inuse and development. In this study, we introduce the LEGO hardware as thecounterpart of the software simulator to provide a touchable and modularizedinterface. Users can easily customize different parts of the simulator in theprototyping phase. Experiments show that it can facilitate teaching, trainingand research processes.

报告名称:Development of Smart Digital Twin via O²DES Framework

报告简介:Thesmart digital twin shall be developed in all the four dimensions as follows.Firstly, the Connectivity indicates the level of communication with itsphysical counterpart; then, the Visibility indicates the ease of perception forhuman beings; in addition, the Granularity that indicates the detail level ofthe model; and more importantly, the Analyzability that enable a digital twinwith the smartness to support decision making. O²DES (object-orienteddiscrete-event simulation) framework is proposed by our team for this purpose. This talk will give an overview on how the O²DES framework complies with the development of the smart digitaltwin on these four dimensions.
